The Strong Blue Line
Rodney Andreason is the Jackson County (FL) Emergency Management Director. Rodney stays busy teaching, coordinating, and informing individuals, churches, non-profits, educational institutions, and government agencies how to prepare for active shooter events. Rodney and I connected last year when he learned of my books. He is instrumental in promoting both Winning a Gunfight and Pistol in the Pulpit to individuals, churches, and non-profits. This spring, Rodney was part of a line-up of expert speakers; Governor Mike Huckabee was the keynote speaker. Rodney said he’d get a copy of Pistol in the Pulpit to the former governor. Thanks Rodney! Pray the connection with Gov. Huckabee will produce a wider distribution of both Pistol in the Pulpit and Winning a Gunfight.
While surfing the web, I inadvertently came across a review of Winning a Gunfight on USA Carry’s website by Michael Jenkins. I’m not sure how a copy landed on Mr. Jenkins’ desk, but I appreciate the straightforward review he gave. To read his review, click here. Reviews make a difference. Please consider reviewing any of my books on Amazon, you can write a review even if you didn’t purchase the book from Amazon. Reviews can be as simple as one short sentence and clicking 5 stars! Paul Lee, executive director of the Fellowship of Christian Peace Officers (FCPO) told me that Robbin Wilkins, a retired police officer for West Jordan, UT is trying to reboot the Salt Lake City area FCPO chapter and suggested I contact her. Robbin and I connected, and she said there is about ten officers coming to the Bible study. I offered to send a dozen copies of Winning a Gunfight for the officers and she enthusiastically accepted. I also let her know I talked to Pastor Terry of Calvary Chapel Salt Lake and he was very supportive of ministering to police officers.
A couple weeks later, Robbin sent this email: “I received the books you sent. What a blessing they will be as we prepare for our next FCPO fellowship meeting. In fact, the topic this meeting will be about ‘Stepping Up’ and what that means from a public safety stand point. Your book will fit right in. I am truly excited to give your book to those in attendance. What a blessing!!! Thank you and I will definitely be in touch. FYI – Calvary Chapel opened their doors and offered their rooms for our meetings. Thank you for paving the way and may God continue to bless you in your journey.” Thank you, Robbin! Please pray for Robbin as she tries to get this ministry off the ground in Salt Lake City.
Cop Church
The main reason Cop Church exists is to connect law enforcement officers and their families with Christ. To help make this connection, Cop Church Idaho Falls partnered with The Strong Blue Line and shipped 65 copies of Winning a Gunfight to the Pocatello (Idaho) Police Department (PPD). The books were sent to Officer Sean Peterson to be distributed to officers attending the police canine conference PPD is hosting. If you want to help The Strong Blue Line and Cop Church with this ministry donate here.
In April, the Rocky Mountain District (of the Christian and Missionary Alliance) held their biannual conference. This year it was hosted by Casper Alliance Church in Casper, WY. District Superintendent Jonathan Wiggins permitted me to present The Strong Blue Line and Cop Church ministries to the delegates. The ministries were well received, and many delegates expressed interest in ministering to the officers in their communities. I learned of one pastor who had an officer start coming to church because the pastor gave him a copy of Winning a Gunfight. Pray for more opportunities to share the ministries in more venues.
Pray for your police.
