our beliefs
The Strong Blue Line is a Christian organization. It is built upon the person of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. The doctrines and practices of the ministry are based upon his teachings as found in the Bible.
We subscribe to the following five foundational Christian doctrines:
- The inerrancy and infallibility of the Bible.
- The virgin birth and complete deity of Christ.
- The atoning sacrifice of Christ’s death for the sins of the world.
- The literal resurrection of the body.
- Christ’s second coming in bodily form to earth.
We believe there is one God eternally existing in three persons; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The God of the Bible is the one true God.
We believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Spirit, and born of a virgin. He is truly and completely God and eternally exists. He was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead. He ascended into Heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as the Intercessor. He is the King who is soon to come a second time to reign and rule in the Earth.
We believe that the Holy Spirit is truly and completely God and eternally exists. He works in the world today to convict of sin, to indwell believers, to provide comfort, to lead us into righteousness as evidenced by the fruit of the Spirit, to give us power to be witnesses of Jesus Christ, and to bestow gifts as mentioned in the Scriptures.
We believe that the Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments (39 and 27 books in English translations), is completely and equally inspired as the written Word of God. It is the basis for doctrine, correction, and instruction in righteousness. The Bible is the only and complete written revelation of God.
We believe that every person has sinned and falls short of the glory of God. Salvation is regeneration (new birth) includes complete justification. Salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone. Salvation is a free gift that cannot be earned, and is only available through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Eternal life is for the righteous (all who trust Jesus Christ alone for salvation) and eternal punishment in Hell is for the wicked (all who reject the free gift of salvation in Jesus Christ).
We believe that the Church is the Body of Christ made up of all believers everywhere and throughout all time. The Church is also the Bride of Christ for whom the Bridegroom, Jesus Christ, will return. Further, the Church is the dwelling place of God through the Holy Spirit and possesses God’s authority to communicate truth and salvation to the world. We believe that every individual member of the Body has a calling and unique gift for ministry and is vital to the healthy functioning of the Church.
